IT firm strikes gold

NEXT Generation IT has been awarded gold-certified partner status by Microsoft. The accolade makes it one of a few technology firms in the Channel Islands to be recognised by the world’s largest computer software company.

‘It is a great recognition for us as a small company and a credit to our clients and staff who have helped us become the business we are,’ said director Matt Hale.

Next Generation IT was formed in October 2003 and has grown to a team of four consultants led by Mr Hale and fellow director Tom Heyworth.

‘We offer an old-fashioned approach in a high-tech industry. Our core focus is on building relationships with clients and we pride ourselves in offering a prompt and consistently high-level service,’ said Mr Hale.

The gold status was achieved by fulfilling a number of criteria including customer surveys, completing client projects and achieving significant sales targets.

Two of the company’s consultants are Microsoft-certified systems engineers and the others are currently undertaking the qualification.

Mr Hale said in return for its commitment to Microsoft came the benefit of long-term support and direct access to its team of highly qualified professionals and technicians.

‘Over 90% of the world’s computers use Microsoft software, so we believe that becoming a gold partner is a natural step forward for us as a business.’

To coincide with the achievement, the company has undergone a rebrand.

Next Generation IT has more than 40 clients who range from small businesses to major corporate organisations.

‘Small- to medium-sized businesses don’t usually have the need for full-time IT staff so rely on us to provide external assistance. In addition to day-to-day support, we provide a wide range of bespoke consultancy services,’ said Mr Hale.

‘The trend at the moment is for larger companies to outsource their IT but it will be necessary for them to ensure that they have allocated the appropriate resources and expertise to provide a consistently high level of service.’
