THE GIAAC have a new king of the sprints. Eddie Costley, in only his third season with the club, took three gold medals at the recent Scottish Masters’ Championships in Grangemouth.
A native of Glasgow, Costley was delighted with his achievements in winning the 100m, 200m and 400m in the 50+ category over the two-day competition.
‘I had just missed out on the medals at the indoor championships in February but as I’m stronger outdoors, I knew I was in with a chance as my training was going well.
‘I feel I can build on this at the UK Championships where I will be competing for the first time.’
Costley, who last year represented the club in the inter-insular over 200m, was particularly pleased with his 100m time, where he dipped below 13 seconds for the first time, clocking 12.93.
