STEPHANIE HALE and Seb Lowe have been crowned island junior champions. They won their respective girls’ and boys’ titles at the Island Bowl at the weekend in the event stage by the Guernsey Youth Bowling Club.
In a tense six-game final, Hale came out on top of her section division with a 1,084 series. Second was Amber Timms with 880 and in third place Katie Simon with 833.
The boys’ division was very close, with Lowe edging out Josh Harvey 971 to 968. In third place was Jordan Le Tissier with 883.
The quality of bowling was very good and all the players are to be congratulated.
Both Hale and Lowe are following in the footsteps of former winners of the Junior Island Championship Lauren Hurford and Matt Southwell, who will be representing Guernsey in the Bowling World Cup in Russia later in the year.
