A VENTURE that provides state-of-the-art building control services and increases energy efficiency has been launched in Guernsey and Jersey. AFM Controls is a combination of Channel Islands business Amalgamated Facilities Management, which is part of the Garenne Group, and the UK firm, DWEC.
The business will design, install, monitor and maintain building-management systems that accurately track performance and energy use.
With this information, AFM Controls will be able to develop and implement improvements by reducing costs, improving comfort and minimising the overall environmental impact of a client’s buildings.
Mark Palfrey, chairman of AFM in Guernsey, said he was delighted to have set up the joint venture.
‘They are the leader in intelligent building control systems and their expertise has been used at Credit Suisse, Ernst & Young, Buckingham Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and at BBC Television Centre.
‘It is very exciting to be working alongside a company with that wealth of experience and knowledge in controls, energy and integrated solutions.’
David Woodhams, chairman of DWEC, said his company had been working with AFM for five years.
‘We have the confidence to form a joint venture with them because they are so well known and such a respected name in the industry. They have the contacts and client base in Guernsey and Jersey and the infrastructure to help deliver DWEC’s products and expertise into the Channel Islands.
‘Together, through AFM Controls, we will provide customers with vision, enthusiasm, technical expertise and local knowledge to offer market-leading building controls solutions.’
