POLICE urgently need the public’s help to shop a suspected robber. They are investigating a robbery in the Lloyds TSB indoor cashpoint area at the bottom of Smith Street leading into Le Pollet in the early hours of Sunday 21 October.
It is believed that the offender escaped with £40 cash.
The suspect is described by police as being about 5ft 8in. with a shaven head and a London-type accent.
He was wearing blue jeans and a cream jacket, possibly with different-coloured patches underneath the arms.
Police have confirmed no weapons were used.
They would particularly like to speak to a man pictured in a CCTV image published today.
‘We need the identity of this person and for him to come forward to assist with our enquiries,’ said a spokesman.
Several people were in the area at the time and are urged to contact police.
‘We would always ask customers to be vigilant whenever they are using our cashpoints and to report anything suspicious to a member of staff,’ said a Lloyds TSB spokesman yesterday.
‘The police are currently investigating an incident which is alleged to have taken place at one of our branches. As is always the case, while this investigation is under way we are not able to comment any further,’ he added.
Anybody with information should contact DC Ian Wright, who is leading the investigation, at the police station on 725111 or give information via the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
