News from the Guernsey Press

National Lottery talks have begun

GUERNSEY Post would like to be the provider of National Lottery tickets in the island. The company is looking to find new sources of income as part of its restructuring and that is one of the possibilities it is looking at, although discussions with Camelot are at an early stage, said chief executive Gordon Steele.

Over the last few years it has lost services including Giro, pension payments and National Savings.

It is determined to replace them and continue to invest in services islanders will find to be of value and competitive.

It insisted it maintains a great reputation, is committed to its people and continues to deliver excellent service.
