LOCAL jobs are at risk if the States stops putting official notices in the Guernsey Press, the newspaper warned today.

A Policy Council plan to close the 166-year-old La Gazette Officielle in the Guernsey Press would also damage communication with islanders, said the company.

In a letter to all States members, general manager and director Mark Lewis said the proposals were ill-thought-out and not properly costed and would be damaging to employment prospects.
