STAFF who will lose their jobs when Simco closes will provide a pool of skills for other businesses to dip into, according to the deputy Commerce and Employment minister.
Carla McNulty Bauer said news of the closure was very disappointing. ‘My concerns are obviously with the staff who will be affected and their families because it opens up a period of uncertainty,’ she said.
‘As government we should not interfere, but as Commerce and Employment we will watch and provide assistance wherever we can.’
