‘MOVING with the times and not looking back’ was the clear message from the Guernsey Football Association board as they presented their plan to take the sport forward until 2012.
But it may not involve introducing a new 16 to 23 years development league to replace the Jackson and Youth One, the idea having been given a big thumbs down in an unofficial vote at an open forum meeting at the Cobo Bay Hotel attended by more 40 people involved and interested in local football.
Chaired by advocate Peter Ferbrache, the GFA unveiled their ideas and proposals to improve the local game which many critics have said has become stagnated. They now have to submit this plan to the English FA and it will become part of the FA’s National Game Strategy 2008-2012.
