ANDY PRIAULX is delighted with the opening weekend of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Brazil.
After the first two races, the three-time world champion was placed third in the table and one point off the leaders. This was after a terrible qualifying session which saw the Guernseyman start in 12th place for the first round at the Curitiba track.
‘I am extremely happy with this weekend and it was the best possible results I could have expected,’ he said. ‘After qualifying 12th I knew we had a big job ahead of us, but my team never lets me down and the turnaround has been great. I can’t thank the RBM boys enough as it was due to their hard work that I was able to finish fifth in race one and second in race two.’
