Le Sauvage and Budge rescue draw for leaders

GREMLIN Galacticos won the last four frames to avoid a second defeat of the season in the Image Group Premier Division.

Playing Ex-Service Chirpers, who beat them in the season’s opening fixture, the Galacticos trailed 6-2 before three frames from Paul Le Sauvage and another from reserve Martin Budge salvaged a draw.

The Chirpers’ lead was built mainly on Martyn Desperques beating Glenn Le Prevost 3-0. The pair have hit the headlines of late, with both making century breaks as well as vying for the aggregate prize. While neither was able to find his break-building form, Desperques twice succeeded on the black to leave himself as strong favourite for the coveted aggregate trophy.
