National child-sex link investigated

POLICE in Guernsey are investigating claims that the island has been linked to a UK and Channel Islands-wide child sex-abuse ring.

In a three-page feature covering events said to have taken place over a 15-year period, the Mail on Sunday reported that in 1991  Cambridgeshire Police raided the home of a man who had allegedly abused children in Guernsey and on the mainland.

The man in question was said to have himself been the victim of a child sex ring and had been befriended by a Guernseyman, whose surname he took. He then became a ‘recruiter’, delivering children to paedophiles for sex in return for gifts, money and ‘love’.
