LOUISE PERRIO has lowered her own island best for 13.1 miles at the Asics Reading Half-Marathon.

She placed 157th in a field of 16,000-plus with a time of 80min. 13sec., a 16-second improvement on the Guernsey record which she set in Bayeux, France, last March.

Partner Steve Dawes was not so happy with his run, although he placed 33rd. His time of 71-38 was a minute-and-a-half down on his best for the distance.
