Seaboard expert cannot be found

WORK on proposals for the Eastern Seaboard Initiative cannot progress because of difficulties in finding a specialist planner.

The Strategic Land Planning Group is working to produce a wide spectrum of scenarios for the east coast of the island from the bathing pools at La Vallette to Vale Castle.

There is a shortage of qualified planners in an industry where demand outstrips supply and there have so far been only two applicants for the post. One from New Zealand dropped out and another from England turned down the job.
