TWO salons have taken pity on Beauty and the East customers.
After reading in the Guernsey Press about islanders who were left with unused vouchers after the salons closed down, Alison Fletcher decided to help out.
Her salon will redeem the Beauty and the East vouchers at full value.
‘I was obviously upset for these people and felt for them,’ said Mrs Fletcher, who runs Innova in Smith Street.
‘I thought, “What can I do to help them out?”. I spoke to my staff who have a lot of experience in the industry and thought it would be nice to give something back to the community.’
Mrs Fletcher said that she would give 100% of the value for vouchers at £65 and under and 50% for those over that amount. The vouchers are available for any of the company’s treatments, but only for two months.
Maureen Gillanders said she would also be offering customers treatments with Beauty and the East vouchers at her body and skincare clinic at L’Islet for the same length of time.
‘I felt sorry for them. I think they have been treated awfully. I thought as a gesture I would do this.’
Mrs Gillanders said that people using Beauty and the East vouchers would have to have treatments with either Becky or Gemma at the salon and could put the vouchers towards a more expensive treatment.
