THE highly anticipated clash of the top two Nerine sides failed to live up to expectations as the champion A side put in an irresistible performance.

Although both struggled initially to convert their shots, once into their flow, the A team were unstoppable in their Praxis Winter League First Division encounter. By half-time, good defensive work by Amy Wright and Gemma Loveridge, coupled with shooters Zola Bourgaize and Anna Trump rarely missing, meant they were 22-10 to the good.

The pattern of the game was set and although the B team worked hard to get the ball down court, they were thwarted by their in-form first team, who ran out 40-21 winners.
