A MAN was sent to prison for eight months yesterday for possessing indecent photographs of children. Wayne Brouard, 35, will be on extended licence for four months when he is released.
The Magistrate’s Court was told by prosecutor Advocate Gary Petty that Brouard had been addicted to adult pornography and started to look at child porn because he was feeling low and thought it might curb his addiction.
There were 100 pornographic images of children on his computer when his house was searched on 7 June. The law categorises them from one to five, with five being the most serious.
Brouard, care of The Manor Hotel, Forest, had 15 category four pictures, 27 category three, seven category two and 51 in category one. He admitted looking at those in the lower categories, but did not remember looking at those in the more serious ones. Advocate Andrew Ayres, for Brouard, argued that the offences were at the lower end of the scale.
