GUERNSEY stepped up their inter-insular preparations with a hugely promising tour to the UK.

Two matches against strong opposition produced a pair of narrow defeats, but the results were always going to be secondary in importance to the performances. In both games, the Investec-sponsored Sarnians exceeded expectations.

‘These two matches showed that there is great strength in depth within the ladies’ squad this season. The efforts of everyone involved deserve great credit, both individually and as a team,’ said assistant coach Rob Turville.
