THE nerveless Guernsey Juniors are going to prove hard to knock off their throne as the Bailiwick’s leading Hampshire Sevens side.
Colin ‘Bill’ Le Huray’s team surprised many last year when they came out on top of the local rounds of the competition, but even now with the weight of expectation on them, they have shown it was no flash in the pan.
La Grande Mare quite rightly fancied their chances on Sunday over their home course, but their opponents rose to the challenge excellently in an absorbing tie, which went down to the final rubber. ‘That is one helluva win,’ said GJGC president Le Huray after his nerves had been shredded.
