News from the Guernsey Press

Rocquaine wall holed

A LARGE hole has been smashed in the sea wall at L’Eree.

The damage occurred on last night’s high tide, which combined with winds gusting to more than 70mph.

Part of the road at Route de la Rocque Poisson has been washed away and the area has been closed amid fears that flooding could occur on this morning’s high tide.

On these pages you will find more pictures of yesterday’s appalling weather and its aftermath taken by Press photographers and readers. There are additional photos in today’s Guernsey Press.

This dramatic video footage of waves crashing over the sea wall at Cobo was taken on Monday by professional still photographer Yasmin.
