Huge night in race for Youth One title

SYLVANS could tonight take a massive step towards their first Youth One title in 15 years. But first they have to overcome closest rivals Bels at the Track.

If Clive Bateman’s side beat Ray Queripel’s juniors they will need just one win from their last three games to earn the right to play Jersey Wanderers for the Portsmouth Trophy in the Junior Upton at Springfield on Saturday 3 May.

Wanderers retained the Jersey Telecom Junior League Under-18 Division One title with a 3-1 victory over previously second-placed St Brelade on Sunday morning. Bateman was yesterday keeping his feet firmly on the ground and hoping his lads do the same ahead of the crucial match in the race for the title.
