Medal winners from the group from the Guernsey Specials Gym Club who went to Jersey and from the in-house competition (549170)
THE Guernsey Specials Gym Club did the island proud at the weekend’s Special Olympics competition in Jersey.
The Sarnians won a total of 12 medals in a tournament that featured a number of teams from the UK. ‘I didn’t think we’d come back with any medals, let alone 12,’ said the club’s chairwoman, Louise Moody. ‘They all did brilliantly.’
The Guernsey team that competed at Fort Regent was made up of Leyton de la Mare, Sharna de la Mare, Sophie de la Mare, Billy de la Mare, Laura Le Page, Ryan Ozanne and Mark Mauger. The other sides involved included Southampton, Leicester, Cheshire, South Devon, Hull, Worcestershire, Coventry, Penarth, and Wolverhampton.
