THREE Grammar School students have become the first Youth Speaks team from Guernsey to reach the national finals. Imogen Wilson, Emily Atkinson and Georgia Gover won the regional round in Tiverton, Devon, on Saturday and will head to London on 27 April for the final.

The Year 10 students’ presentation on the development of language over the centuries impressed the judges. Teacher and coach Sarah Crisp said she was incredibly proud of the girls.

‘We are reeling from the shock,’ she said. ‘It’s so exciting and we are so proud of them.’
