GUERNSEY’S electro-music scene will be showcased with help from a new record label.
Axis Trax is the brainchild of local DJ Dave Bichard, who had a chart hit in the 1990s with a reworking of the David Bowie song Let’s Dance.
The locally-based music label is aimed at producing electro house, breakz and other electro music.
‘I’ve been working on lots of new material over the past two years, as my career has swung towards the production side of the business. The thought of being a small fish in a big ocean at a major record label has never appealed, so in proper Guernsey fashion I decided to do it myself,’ said Dave.
The label will embrace new technology and its first single, Bold as Love, is due to be released online today.
‘It’s those who embrace new technology, digital downloads and the world of web-based social networking who’ll be the winners,’ said Dave.
‘There are many in the music industry who could be classed as analogue people in a digital age. Now’s the time to look forward.’
The official Axis Trax launch party is on Thursday at Rogues nightclub, where Dave will play an exclusive set.
