Election is guaranteed in two areas

ballotbox1.jpgTHE West and St Sampson’s yesterday became the first districts where an election is guaranteed.

St Peter’s douzenier Shane Langlois, former deputy Marc Laine and David Gorvel are the latest nominations in the West, taking the number of candidates to nine.

In St Sampson’s, former senior constable Peter Gillson’s nomination was received yesterday, making seven candidates for six seats.

In St Peter Port South, Jan Kuttelwascher, recently involved in reviving the people’s meeting, was nominated yesterday.

Deputy Mike O’Hara will stand for one of six seats in the South-East.

And the number of candidates declared in St Peter Port North rose to five with Stephen Le Prevost’s nomination.

It takes the number of candidates declared for the 45 seats to 37.
