Battle joined in Town south

AN ELECTION is now guaranteed in St Peter Port South.

Two more nominations have been received in the district – Peter Burtenshaw and Deputy Jenny Tasker.

They join Allister Langlois, Keith Wilen, Deputy Barry Brehaut, Steve Brooks and Jan Kuttelwascher in running for the six seats on offer there.

It means that elections will definitely take place in three districts, with sufficient numbers already contesting St Sampson’s and The West.

Treasury minister Lyndon Trott yesterday came into the race in St Sampson’s.

Former conseiller Carol Steere is attempting to make a comeback in St Peter Port North.

Deputy Tom Le Pelley joined the Castel candidates yesterday.

It all means that there are 46 candidates declared, with 45 seats available.
