IT PROVED as noisy as ever, but in the pits and outside the perimeter ropes, peace was restored throughout the fourth round of the Guernsey Motocross Championship at Pleinmont.
Series secretary John Le Page was happy to see smiles back on the faces of the junior riders and parents after the fuss of the previous round when the disqualification of youngsters caused a furore and had Jersey parents claiming they would not be back.
On this occasion and with torrential rain and very slippery mud on the Pleinmont track, well managed assistance was clearly being given to the struggling younger riders, to help them gain confidence and experience. ‘I am pleased to be able to confirm that a satisfactory resolution has been found by the Auto Cycle Union officials and the Guernsey Kart and Motor Club, who have worked together to reach an outcome that very much encourages and develops the new and inexperienced riders while also complying with the race rules of the ACU,’ said Le Page.
