EVERY district will have an election after a rush of candidates on the final day of nominations. This was most noticeable in the Castel, which until yesterday had only six declarations for seven seats.
It was the chosen parish for another six people yesterday. In all, 19 candidates emerged on the final day, meaning that 88 people are standing for the 45 seats.
Noticeable absentees after nominations closed at 4pm include former chief minister Laurie Morgan and St Peter Port South deputy Brian Gabriel.
