TWO 75-year-olds were injured on Saturday when their Skoda hit a lamppost outside The Indian Cottage on the Bridge.

The male driver was taken to hospital suffering from chest injuries, while his female passenger was also taken to hospital suffering from back pain and chest injuries.

Learner driver Ben Le Maitre, 17, was stationary in his Peugeot allowing a pedestrian to cross the zebra crossing at South Side, when it appears the Skoda attempted to overtake him heading towards Bulwer Avenue. ‘I was at the zebra crossing when the car behind hit me and went into the lamppost.’
