Jersey 1, Guernsey 1
GUERNSEY’S women team drew with Jersey in a match that they really should have won.
The Reds have dominated the fixture for more than seven years. Last season Guernsey lost 6-0. But at Les Quennevais on Saturday they totally outplayed the home side yet had to settle for a draw when they could not convert their pressure into victory.
The result means that Jersey hold onto the trophy and Sarnian captain Lizzie Stonebridge was visibly disappointed not to have taken the victory, but she looked on the positives. ‘It was brilliant – everybody gave 110%,’ she said.
