CASTEL electors packed out the hall at Beaucamps Secondary School for last night’s hustings.
Even extra chairs put in at the front could not prevent people having to stand all around the periphery as up to 400 took the opportunity to find out more about the candidates.
With a week to go before the election, voters quizzed those standing for two hours on issues including population growth, what their political ambitions were and paid parking.
Chairing his first hustings, senior constable Chris Workman said the turnout had been excellent. ‘It shows people are interested in politics on the back of the last four years and major policies that have been implemented by the States, like zero-10,’ said Mr Workman.
