PEOPLE must make their vote count at today’s general election, says Chief Minister Mike Torode (pictured).
There are 33,253 people on the electoral roll, which represents 73% of the eligible population.
Fifty-two of those were added after the Royal Court last week granted declaratory relief so that names left off in error could be inscribed.
Deputy Torode said it was important for electors to vote only for their first-choice candidates.
‘Vote for those people you want in government,’ he said.
‘Cast one, two or three votes. You do not have to cast the full number of seats available in the district.
‘My advice to the electorate is to vote for as many people as you want to see.
‘Use your vote in a positive way, not a negative one,’ said Deputy Torode, who will step down from States next month.
