ROUND two of a four-meeting autocross season produced another win for Ozzy Ozanne, who has a maximum score so far this season.
Marilyn Robilliard also took a maximum from the women’s race. However, both drivers benefited from the misfortunes of others.
Ozanne was led by Carl Wallbridge for two laps until his 4×4 Escort began cutting out and he dropped to an eventual fourth. Martyn Lowe and Leeroy Sebire followed Ozanne home and remain as the top three drivers in the points.
Robilliard was racing second to Rosy Harding until the latter’s car stopped, allowing the former and Rachel Bihet past into first and second places respectively.
Linda Jones scored her first points from third in the race.
Peter Jory was crowned small-cars champion as he won the race ahead of Trevor Breton. The latter moves to equal second place with Darren Leadbeater.
Peter Rose has clinched the standard-tyres title.
He failed to score in the first race as Mike Bichard led home Dean Smith and second in points Dan Pinchemain.
Rose won race two from Bob Green to leave Pinchemain needing to score well to secure runner-up.
Sebire is close to claiming two titles: he needs one point out of a possible eight to take reverse track with chicane.
He won the race from Chris Norman, who moves to third place overall, after second-placed Shane Le Poidevin did not start.
Sebire also won the large cars race from Wallbridge and another win from either of the meetings left will give the Honda CRX driver another crown.
Although the ASBOs outscored Starfish Patrollers, the latter are still 20 points ahead, with A Team in third.
With a further 52 team points available from the remaining meetings, a challenge is possible from any of the top three.
