One-goal victory does not do dominant Trinity justice

Vale Rec 0, Trinity 1
A SINGLE first-half goal was enough to take the John Leatt Trophy to Jersey, but it did not underline Trinity’s dominance over Guernsey’s Youth Two champions Vale Rec.

Even on their home patch, Rec were disappointing, outmuscled by an older, larger and more physical team and seemingly unable to play their usual flowing football.

Midfield lynchpins Jack Tostevin and Glenn Le Tissier were almost solely involved in damage limitation and had both been booked by the interval in a frequently physical and often bad-tempered affair.
