SCOTLAND have announced their 11-man international squad to compete at the 2008 Fortis Golden Series in a fortnight. The all-male squad will cover both sprint and 4 x 400 relay showdowns with their Welsh counterparts and Guernsey invitation quartets.

‘I’m so pleased to see that the Scots have committed to sending such a strong squad,’ said event organiser, Rob Batiste. ‘It could not have been much stronger, the only really notable absentee being their number one 100m man, Nick Smith, who is away warm-weather training.’

Nine of the Scots will compete over 100 or 200 metres in addition to the relays and with Wales expected to announce a strong team later this week, the first of two series meetings this summer promises to be a sprint-fest.
