CHRIS LAW is feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s Renault Clio Cup round at Donington after having solved his car’s fuel pump problem.
The young Sarnian was testing at Croft last week when the problem that had been slowing him down was spotted. After it was fixed, the 17-year-old secured a fourth-place finish out of a field of 20.
‘We’re very, very pleased,’ said his father, Will Law. ‘Firstly because we found the problem and secondly because he finished fourth.’
After a great start to the season at Brands Hatch at the end of last month when he clocked a 10th and a 16th finish in the opening two rounds, he then failed to secure any points at the next meeting at Rockingham.
But according to his father, Donington is one of Chris’ favourite tracks.
The race will also be televised live on ITV 4.
‘He quite likes Donington,’ said Law Snr.
‘It’s a good circuit. He came fifth there in the Winter Series.
‘We’ve got our hopes high.’
