GUERNSEY’S new chief minister will be chosen today.
The States must whittle the six candidates for the top job in local politics down to one, setting the political course of the island for the next four years.
The consensus appears to be that deputies Lyndon Trott and Bernard Flouquet remain the front-runners in what has at times been a heated race, with deputies Al Brouard, Carla McNulty Bauer, David De Lisle and Hunter Adam also chasing members’ votes.
All faced a grilling by 32 of their colleagues for two hours yesterday in a hastily-arranged hustings at the Peninsula Hotel.
