TWO Elliotts will take to the field for Guernsey tomorrow as they look to defend the Siam Cup. Ten-year veteran Jim is joined for the first time by younger brother Mark in the starting XV to face Jersey as the debutant realises a long-term ambition.
‘I have played under-18 and under-21 Murattis in football, South-West Counties in the seniors and hockey Uptons for Colombians, but the Siam has something a bit different from all the others,’ said the 27-year-old.
‘This is the biggest sporting event in the Channel Islands in my mind and is the one I have always wanted to be involved in. Guernsey against Jersey games are going to have that inter-insular rivalry whatever the occasion, but the build up to it and the history behind it [the Siam] makes it that bit more special.’
Mark has been selected on the wing, Jim outside centre.
