A FUTURE Guernsey Live could receive some sort of States funding and backing, according to Deputy Mike O’Hara.
The new Culture and Leisure minister said it was a possibility, but until the full facts and figures from the event had been looked at, it was too early to say definitely. However, if something did happen, it would likely to be in conjunction with Commerce and Employment.
‘It’s quite natural that they [Positiv Productions] would ask us to consider giving States backing. From a department point of view, there is no doubt that it was a success and from what we saw of it, the event was professionally run.
‘But if they think the States is going to underwrite a £200,000 loss, then they haven’t got a hope.’
