How the Daily Mail reported on the case of Alderney resident Jake Hamon’s rekindled relationship with ex-girlfriend Tammy Henshaw, who lives in Lancashire, through social-networking site Facebook. (0579102)
A MAN who was assaulted by a jilted husband says he is pleased his attacker escaped prison. Jake Hamon, 37, of Les Rochers, Alderney, had to spend a night in hospital after being kicked and punched by Stephen Henshaw, from Preston, England, on 2 May.
Henshaw, a former estate agent, blamed Mr Hamon, a marine engineer, for the break-up of his marriage after having been told by his wife, Tammy, that she was intending to leave him for Mr Hamon. Mrs Henshaw and Mr Hamon, who dated as teenagers, had recently got to know each other again through internet site Facebook.
Father of two Mr Hamon said: ‘He [Henshaw] should not have gone to prison because he’s a dad. Even if he’d put me in a wheelchair, I wouldn’t have wanted him to go to prison. No man should be taken away from his kids for something like this. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to be kept away from his kids and he [Henshaw] is certainly not my enemy.’
