MOURANT International Finance Administration has just completed its 200th Channel Islands Stock Exchange listing and is its fastest-growing agent.
Mourant was a founder of the CISX and acts as a category one member. That allows it to act as a sponsor in respect of all types of securities capable of being listed on the CISX.
Since August, listing instructions have gone up by 38%. Mourant now has over US$150bn of client commitments under administration and offices in Cayman, Dubai, Dublin, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, London, Luxembourg, New York, San Francisco and Singapore.
Jason Bingham, listing manager for MIFA, said the listing of debt securities on the CISX such as eurobonds remained popular.
‘Our clients continue to take advantage of the quoted eurobond exemption, which allows UK-based issuers to eliminate UK withholding tax on payments of interest to parties not resident in the UK.
‘Real estate investment funds focusing on the emerging markets are also very popular and we have had a significant number of listing enquiries relating to these specific types of structure.’
