Castle hosts music event

The Vale Earth Fair Collective’s event at the ancient monument also known as the Ivy Castle witnessed performances from local acts Asylum Seekaz, Fuzzey Group, Schema and oneofakind as well as Jersey’s Didgeriblues and Schillaci and the UK’s Zub Zub, fresh from playing Glastonbury.

‘We had a complicated set-up yesterday, but I was amazed it all came together very easily today and we started on time,’ said collective member Rob Roussel late on Saturday afternoon. ‘It’s been a brilliant day so far.’

Holding an event at the castle was suggested by Culture and Leisure. ‘We came down and saw the potential. This is like a mini-earth fair, like the old days – more compact.’

The fair takes place on Sunday 24 August.
