GUERNSEY POST are celebrating a hat-trick in the annual inter-firm Town relay.
The four-man team won the Collins-Stewart sponsored race for the third successive year, destroying the rest of the field in one of the most convincing wins in the event’s history.
They finished over 90 seconds ahead of KPMG and BWCI and they never looked like doing anything else except win after taking the lead on the second of the four laps.
After the first lap, the Ernst and Young mixed team had a commanding lead at the top of the Smith Street changeover position, but they lost it to the Posties by the end of the next. Tristan Robilliard, captain of the victorious Guernsey Post team, always believed they were in with a good chance.
‘It went really well out there. We knew we had a good chance going into it because we have won it for the last two years and we have worked very hard and trained for this,’ he said.
