SANDPIPER CI has announced that it intends to sell its manufacturing and food distribution division Cimandis.
The business includes Warry’s Bakery in Guernsey, CI Bakery in Jersey and its foodservice operations in both islands.
Sandpiper CEO Tony O’Neill said the company was continuing with its focus on its retail core.
‘Cimandis is a profitable business with a strong market position,’ he said.
‘However, we stated from the outset that our focus would be on making improvements to our retail business.
‘We have invested heavily in the development of our store portfolio and will continue to do so.
‘This disposal will see the divestment of the remaining non-retail businesses within our Channel Islands portfolio and, in the event of a sale, will leave Sandpiper CI as a focused Channel Islands retailer.’
The sale is expected to take several months and BDO Stoy Hayward in Southampton has been appointed as advisers for the transaction.
