MARTYN DE GARIS will manage the island’s representative under-21 side in two matches against the Royal Naval Air Command next week and against Jersey next month.

Former Sylvans coach de Garis recently joined the GFA coaching staff, taking responsibility for the Guernsey under-16 development squad. Now he will step up for the RNAC matches, including next Saturday’s Malaya Cup match at the Track, and the Ambassadeur Bowl inter-insular on 22 November.

He will be assisted by Guernsey under-18s coach Paul Ockleford. ‘I am excited about this opportunity,’ he said. ‘I’ve worked with most of the players before and I know what they can do.’

The duo succeed the former senior island management team of Steve Ogier and Tony Vance, who have pinned their colours to Guernsey United.
