EVERYONE in the community has a part to play in reducing domestic violence. Further details have been released of the draft domestic abuse strategy, which will go to the States for approval next year.
These include being proactive rather than reactive, which means educating children and young people, raising awareness and providing information to the general public and encouraging companies to create workplace policies to protect their staff.
‘This strategy is very community focused. It makes it clear that everyone has a responsibility to tackle domestic abuse,’ said Alun Williams, part of the strategy’s advisory board.
Zoe Grainger is the Education representative on the Domestic Abuse Forum. ‘We have a responsibility to keep saying this is not acceptable,’ she said.
