Prelude to an Ozanne win

THE last autocross meeting of the year was held on a wet and windy Chouet beach.

A few hardy spectators saw some good battles and different finals winners. Ozzy Ozanne returned with his reliable Prelude after rolling the Jag in the previous meeting and dominated the race of firsts with a win from Callum Queripel.

Ozanne had drawn championship leader Martyn Lowe in the heats, who had to settle for second place to the defending champ. Although Ozanne took maximum meeting points, Lowe still leads the championship but by a reduced margin.

Ozanne never allowed Queripel to get too close and both left Peter Jory in third throughout the race.

Rachel Bihet joined Marilyn Robilliard in the lead of the women’s points after she beat her rival who was using a borrowed car after her own had stopped in the heats.

They were both ahead of new driver Tessa Le Gallez, who came home third and looks set to challenge the leaders next year.

Trevor Breton won the small cars race from Jory, a result which leaves him with maximum points and 10 ahead of non-starting Doug Le Feuvre.

Breton also won the large cars race, in his second car, from Dan Pinchemain and with previous leader Carl Wallbridge non-starting, he takes over the lead of the points.

Queripel dominated both reverse-track races with wins ahead of Pinchemain (with chicane race) and Darren Le Gallez (big track race).

Queripel leads both events heading into next year.Autocross Club: Last meeting of the year at a wet and windy Chouet beach
