THE Confederation of Guernsey Industry has freshened up its branding with the unveiling of a new image.
The ‘soundbite’ backdrop will be used at shows in which the organisation is participating.
According to acting-chairman Peter Budwin (pictured) it will help deliver a clearer message of what the CGi stands for to people who might not already know.
‘It carries our strapline, “speaking up for light industry in Guernsey”, which is exactly what we do, but we haven’t necessarily ever made that clear to everyone in the past.
‘Before this we would have just had a plain background with a few CGi stickers stuck on it.’
Mr Budwin said the intention in future would be to place words and phrases of major issues facing the island, such as population and capital expenditure, above the spikes on the ‘soundbite’ and then to change them when appropriate.
The image was designed and created by local creative studio Two Degrees North.
‘They are members of the CGi and we always try to involve members in projects like this whenever they come up,’ said Mr Budwin.
‘It’s been universally accepted by our members and we are very happy about it.
‘It was time we did something with our image. We haven’t changed our logo or our colours, but we feel this will make more of an impact.’
