Andy Priaulx could make history this weekend in Portugal.
If he starts rounds 13 and 14 of the World Touring Car Championship in Porto he will be the first driver to start 100 races in the series.
‘I like statistics, but prefer to have the most amount of wins’ said Priaulx ‘I have to put all thoughts other than that I want to win out of my mind once we get there.’
BMW Team driver Priaulx is excited about the Porto circuit, where he won race two last year.
‘I love street circuits and this is a classic. It’s a track where overtaking is difficult. It has long straights and some strange chicanes.
‘It does seem very popular with the locals and its great to have a large, enthusiastic crowd there.’
Priaulx is currently sixth in the championship, only two points behind Seat’s Rickard Rydell.
He will be hoping to take maximum points into the British meeting at Brands Hatch on 19 July.
