What a wonderful story! I have always been fascinated with the Titanic myself. I’ve often asked whether it could have been seen from here (Alderney). Now I know!

Additionally, being fascinated by it means it’s always been an easy way to remember my Parents birthdays.

My Mothers is on the 10th of April, the date of Titanics maiden voyage, and my Fathers, Allan ‘Wiffles’ Benfield’s was on the 15th of April, the day that it sank.

I seem to remember, long ago, meeting a distant cousin whom, I was told at the time, had been on the Titanic. I can't remember her name but she was related to the owner of one of the bus companies at the time - either Watsons or The Greys.
